Why Denver’s Older Brick Chimneys Need a Pro Sweep (And When to Schedule)
Denver’s historic neighborhoods, like Capitol Hill or Five Points, are packed with brick chimneys built before modern liner standards. Over time, these chimneys develop crevices where soot lodges, and mortar joints crack, letting cold air in. A pro chimney sweep doesn’t just remove creosote; we inspect for hidden damage like spalling bricks or failing liners that DIY tools miss. Schedule yours by October to avoid the holiday rush, especially if your chimney hasn’t been serviced since last winter. Learn how often Denver homes should sweep their chimneys, older masonry chimneys often need more frequent checks.
The Efficiency Fix: How a Clean Chimney Lowers Your Heating Bill
A clogged chimney forces your fireplace to work harder, burning fuel inefficiently and pushing heat up the flue instead of into your home. Our crew uses brushes and vacuums designed for Denver’s brick chimneys to clear obstructions, then test draft pressure to ensure proper airflow. We’ve seen cases where a $120 sweep saved homeowners $300+ in gas costs over a season. If your chimney’s draft feels weak or smoke backs into the room, it’s time for a pro. Get a free written estimate for your Denver chimney sweep, we’ll flag any repairs needed before winter sets in. For homes near Lakewood or Wheat Ridge, we also offer same-day service for urgent issues.
